Today marks the one year anniversary of this little blog. It has truly been a fun and exciting outlet for me for the past 12 months, and the feedback and support from friends and fellow bloggers has made the experience much more meaningful than I could have ever imagined. I still remember when I first sent the link over to one of my closest friends (you often see her as my guest photographer on here too) and my nerves waiting for her feedback on my first couple of posts. The support since day one from my closest friends and family has helped me to keep going and continue to grow over the past year.
I started this blog as a way to capture my favourite recipes, outfit ideas, and general creative side, but mainly I started it to have something just of my own. This time last year, my husband was embarking on what was an incredibly challenging and demanding year for his academics and professional exams, and I wanted to make sure I could stay positive and supportive as he went through the process, and this was the perfect project to give me something to stay busy with. I didn’t realize it would also lead to so many fun conversations with people about recipes, interior design, their favourite new closet addition, and the list goes on.
I laid out several goals for this blog when I started, and happily many of them have been met. I think as time moves forward, some of the content on here may shift gradually to new topics but I don’t think fashion or food will ever be left out. As time moves on, I may not be able to post quite as regularly (in truth, my number one goal was to ensure I had something meaningful to post every workday and happily I was able to achieve this goal) but just as with anything else, life priorities shift and I may have to adjust some of my expectations.
Regardless, I look forward to year two of Lilies, Lattes & Lace, and from the bottom of my heart, thank you for every comment, message, or note you have left me in the last year, it has meant so much to me!
And to my hubby, thanks so much for your help and support, I wouldn’t have been able to do half of it without you!
